Managers Checklist
As a league we try to keep the operation straightforward to run for managers, coaches, and club administrators. The checklist below should help with the most important and frequent tasks.
Regular Tasks
- Team Contacts - Keep your contact details up to date on the SSYFL Club and Team Contact System and ask any new team contacts to register. The system securely shares contact details for match arrangements and League communications.
- Player Registrations – Make sure everyone in your squad is registered with the League on the FA Player Registration System managed in the FA Club portal. All players must be registered and approved by the League to participate in League governed fixtures.
- Fixtures – View your fixtures on Full-Time and check regularly for any additions and changes. Fixtures are loaded by the League Competition Secretaries.
- Result text contact details – Inform the league, if the contact details for the text recipient changes. Familiarise yourself with the guide for submitting results texts published in the Full-Time News section.
- Laws and Rules – Keep up to date on the Laws of the game, local rules, and Rules of the League:

Weekly Tasks
- Check fixture and opponent contact details
- Send (or follow-up) fixture details – location, time etc. inc. footwear requirements (if 3G).
- Check no kit clash.
- Discuss if development fixture.
- Arrange referee.
- Postponement
in advance if necessary.
- Check team equipment is readily available and in good condition e.g. footballs, warm up equipment, first aid kit etc.
- Check have up to date squad list and re-print if necessary.
- If you are fielding players who are temporarily transferred you should have a squad list from their regular team with you to prove eligibility.
Match Day Tasks
- Ground Risk assessment – pitch inspection etc.
- Postponement on match day.
- Check Respect requirements met – barriers etc.
- Player eligibility - Check squad list.
- Pay the referee.
Tasks after the Match….
- Submitting the result by text message in agreed format. Do not add any additional detail to this. Once approved by the Competition Secretary the necessary updates will be made in Full Time. For published competitions the result can be checked later in Full-Time.
- Reports – Referee, Match - if significant event to report. Please make us aware of any exceptional incidents on a SSYFL Report Form within 7 days of the match.
